WHAT IS THE COST OF A TRIP TO TANZANIA ?
The price of your safari and/or beach stay in Zanzibar depends on many factors, such as number of people, time of the year, and above all, level of accomodation you require.
We are providing under “Our Proposals” a few examples (our best of) and will be happy to modify our offer to suit your needs.
Keep in mind that the biggest portion of the cost relates to your choice of accomodation, the second to the entry fees of the Tanzanian National Parks. By visiting them, you also contribute to wildlife conservation !
WHAT ABOUT HEALTH & SAFETY IN TANZANIA ?
Part of our services is to provide you with a file that comprehensively advises you on safety, security and health (vaccinations, recommendations) in Tanzania.
MONEY IN TANZANIA
The local currency is Tanzanian Shillings. However, in most places you can also pay in US dollars. Euros are also used, just not so largely.
Here again, you will be fully briefed prior to your departure.
WHAT IS THE CLIMATE IN TANZANIA ?
Tanzania is a vast country, nearly 23 times bigger than Switzerland ! The distance between the Ngorongoro crater (standing at 2’500 m heighT) and Zanzibar is around 1’000 km, roughly the same distance between Zurich and Barcelona. Therefore, the climate between the North and Zanzibar are very different.
Tanzania has two distinct climate zones :
- Mainland under a moderate tropical climate
- the coast and Zanzibar, under equatorial humid climate.
SEASONS :
The dry season : from May to October.
The « long rain season» spans from mid-March to beginning of May, April being the wettest month.
The « short rain season» lasts from beginning of November to mid-December, when showers can be frequent.
WHICH IS THE BEST PERIOD TO TRAVEL ?
Except for March and April, the long rains season, Tanzania is a great place to travel to, all year round.
TIME DIFFERENCE WITH SWITZERLAND / EUROPE
Time difference is minimal : + 1 hour during summer saving time, + 2 hours during winter saving time.
